Sew Heart Felt rugs are skilfully created by shaping organic wool with soap, water and hand pressure. Fine needle felted details bring the charming Raj Tiger to life!

Cleaning

Cleaning your Sew Heart Felt hand-felted item

DO NOT USE WASHING MACHINE or TUMBLE DRIER WITH YOUR WOOL FELT.

Wipe off spills immediately. Remove dried on dirt by scraping.

A quick shake and air out will do the trick most often along with gentle vacuuming (Do NOT use the brush setting).

Take your felt to a dry cleaner. Dry cleaning is safe for felt and is effective for most soiling issues.

However, if you do need to wash it:
• Use luke-warm water with a little liquid wool wash in (or mild shampoo);
• Submerge your felted item and leave it to soak for a few minutes;
• Do not soak for long periods;
• Gently swish your felted item through the water a few times;
• Rinse thoroughly using same temperature water, and same method;
• Squeeze gently to remove excess water (squeeze like a sponge, don’t wring like a rag);
• Blot between 2 towels to remove even more water. Gently pull back in to shape and leave to dry naturally, flat if possible;
• If there is applied surface decoration, like little animal features or beads, please be extra careful in those areas: do not
rub hard!
Air dry – do not dry in direct sunlight as natural dyes may fade.

Remove grease and oils from felt with vinegar.
If your felt has grease or oil on it, you can use white vinegar to dissolve the stain.
• Use 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water. The vinegar smell will fade with time and will make the felt very soft after it dries.
Vinegar also disinfects felt.
Do not soak felt in this solution for more than 15 minutes as that may damage the surface of the felt.
